I am thoroughly looking forward to this game’s breadth and exploration opportunities. That being said I have a few things I would love to see in this game in terms of both world themes and design.
Multi-Shaped worlds:
Worlds that loop back on themselves, be they spheres of toruses. Another interesting concept could be flat worlds with giant cliff face ends, or ring worlds created by the Ooratians. Another fun concept would be a cubic world, where sides could be accessed through on-world portals.
Most intriguing of all though would be amorphic worlds that change shape, though this would be far more complex and demanding computationally and gameplay-wise.Oortian ruin worlds:
Worlds that are cityscapes of the Oortian people, obviously long since abandoned and in various states of decay. I imagine puzzle locked vaults and climbing, jumping challenges to get to treasure filled structures that cannot be accessed from the ground. I also imagine that the most powerful of the protectors would dwell here, guarding the lost cities.Giant tree worlds:
Worlds covered with trees, both small and very, very large. Think Redwoods or the Deku Tree from LoZ: OoT. The ground could be a dangerous place riddled with pitfalls and traps whereas the canopy could be a beautiful and peaceful respite.Lava and Crystalline worlds:
Worlds that are predominantly lava with islands of huge multicolored crystals jutting up and offering a safe zone.Extreme Conditions worlds:
Worlds torn by violent winds, acidic rain, and giant waves. Most of the safe zone of the world is subterranean, but ruins filled with loot are on the surface for those brave enough to face nature. -

There is already a world with a sea of Lava, most blocks havn’t been implemented yet, only blue crystals, a variety of grass colors, some stone, a couple wood types, dirts, ice, etc. Most crystal or gem blocks havn’t been implemented, along with I believe a variety of other metallic blocks which would be used for crafting weapons and armors.
I agree that some pre-built, be it in ruins or not, buildings once occupied by Oortian should be in the game worlds, and I believe they will be at a later date (temples and the like).
I was thinking also about extreme condition worlds, worlds that would require specific equipment to even explore (sulphur based liquid oceans, resulting in toxic air which would require some form of protection, acid rains, etc.)
Soo much can be done with this game as long as they do it right.

I mean just lava worlds, with giant crystalline islands. What is there is already awesome, I just think this would be another unique type of world.
And of course, I do realize this is still pre-alpha, just something I think would be cool to see in future updates.
The idea of special equipment needed to explore some worlds is also really awesome, like breathing masks and suits, or perhaps some magical shield device.
