Whenever I try to launch Oort Online on Steam, it always gets stuck on Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 cmd. Can someone help me with this?

Hello there.
I had a similar problem in the past. Try quitting steam and log back in. Also, you can try reinstalling Oort Online.
Let me know if this problem continues.

Same problem, paid for the game on steam (including the collector’s edition) and it won’t play.
It won’t even start.I’ve relogged several times and reinstalled it twice. At first I thought it might be because my PC couldn’t handle but it is well within the boundaries of the system requirements.

1. Do you even get to the Sign in / Create Account view?
2. The game generates debugging logs in:
Mac OS X at /tmp/tblz_log.txt
Windows at c:\temp\tblz_log.txt(Assuming the folders exist.)
Can you send a log after the game crashes / fails?

Nope I don’t get that, I don’t even get a window open up. Just “click” and nothing happens. I’ve tried waiting for ages but nothing happens. It just, won’t launch.
Also, there is nothing resembling that file in C:\Temp

UPDATE: Recently discovered it is something to do with my PC, I believe it to be that it wouldn’t download the files needed to start the game, as no box came up in steam. I highly doubt that this is game’s fault however and I plan to play it on my laptop, sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi, it happens to me the same thing,
I’ve tried to quit steam and also to reinstall oort but nothing changes, once Microsoft.NET Framework 4.5.1.cmd is dowloaded (or supposed downloaded) the window closes and nothing happens, and if i try again the operation repeats itself
Has someone found a solution?PS: I’m sorry if my English is not perfect it’s not my native language

The game depends on the .Net framework – so we really need it installed. There is no way around this.

If you have nothing to delete on the drive then if there are some large rarely used folders you can set them to compressed which may free up enough space.

Which version of Windows are you using? (Others have been reporting issues with XP.)

I’m sorry to report that Windows XP is below our minimum spec for the game. (This is defined on http://steam.oortonline.com.)
Because we depend on the .Net framework and as you report there isn’t a version available for XP.
Do you have another machine you can play the game on?

i have windows 8 in my laptop and its working pretty well. but i want to play it here in my office too but this pc here are all windows xp 🙁 Oort is very addictive game. I hope they will continue to develop this game and if they do finish that they will beat the minecraft and other kind of sandbox games that exist.

Potential Solution
Try launching the game while in “big picture” mode on steam, this got around the problem for me and it downloaded the files just fine. But like I said before, this is just my PC being weird.
