Hey Oort developers and others. so i have been looking at the videos and the graphic seems really awsome, but thats not what im here to talk about. one of the things a online game needs is a chat so people can get together and work together and just make the experience better, it could be cool if the chat was kinda blurred out when you play so you can enjoy the good graphics then you can press a bottom on the keyboard and the chat will be more visible and you will be able to type what ever you want maybe like “wanna pass me some food?” or something like that and then there could be like clans so people can go and make a clan with there friends. the command could be like /clan create [name]
then you could do /clain invite [players name] you can find out more youself. I know this is very inspired by MC Factions but still…-Your fellow supporter
ps. i am 14 and from denmark so sorry if my english isnt correct

I like the blurred out chat, that’s a good point to make. It would make for a better gaming experience.

Tbh. I think UI should eventually become something the player can control.
Something in the options that allows them to move it around on the screen. Control the opacity of certain UI elements.

Hi guys. We totally want you to have in-game chat for Oort Online and it’s in the plan. For the time being feel free to use the ga.me feed chat to the right of the window. It’s not ideal for everything but should help you keep in touch.

I would like to see the chat system as text and proximity voice, I know there are voice chat applications out there but implementing this into the game can make for less hassle for the gamers. That way if people chose to chat either way its available, then for guilds they can have their own dedicated voice option via the vioce applications like Mumble or GameFox seperate form the game. The fadable or toggable option is a great idea and I completely agree.

@FluffyTop: Absolutely. Way too few games make use of proximity based VoIP! I had created a thread in the suggestions for only that. I would even push this further and tie in RPG elements, so that you have to “learn” a language or build a “communicator” to even understand the others (Voice could be distorted based on your avatar or turned into gibberish until you understand each other). I am linking the thread here just in case this becomes a scattered discussion:
