This one is important. As for now we have one indestructible tool that goes slow. And It kinda sucks. So, crafting, hear me out on this. Trying to stray far away of popular crafting techniques in most games. Lets make Oorts unique. Im talking melting down ores and pouring that ore into a mold to make the tool head or weapon blade. No other game has their crafting like this, that i know of at least. I hope this gets read. Maybe races will get some Added Bonuses from crafting, Such as the Dwarf can easily mine ore, aswell as have a small chance to make tools more efficient. Elves, blades and weapons more effective. Idk, just a brainstorm really, the big guys upstairs can flesh it out. I would love to see this in the game.
Sincerely,

PS: Big fan! This game is going places! -

I swear I’ve seen this post and someone replied something about beast species and absolutely no dwarves and elves, because it’s too common. Which I agree with. As for the actual crafting, well it sounds more like smelting, I think it’s like adding another step to Minecrafts usual ‘stick ore into a furnace, craft ingot into something,’ so I don’t see it being a thing. As far as races go I want to pick any race I want and still basically be the top of my chosen field. Maybe the Goat people are superior in crafting weapons, but I want to be a lizard person. That would upset me that I can’t possibly be superior in that aspect without being the goat when I really want to be the lizard. Now obviously the devs are intending for each race to have unique traits to them like size, movement speed and gathering efficiency, but as far as the potential your character has for the role you choose, I want to have a chance, and not always be outclassed by my goat nemesis who is 20 towns over.

Lol, yeah. I put the post on both forums to see what kind of responses I would receive from both.

Now that certain types of weapons would work better just makes sense, and if you make crafting a bit more difficult it would make it so people would dedicate themselves to that for trade and such.

It would seem that being the “best” smith would have social benefits as people would seek your town/vendors thus cross populating worlds.
