Hopefully, something i’ve been quite looking forward to and HAD been pitched by a player or two on the forums is a more complex system of combat instead of just left click to use.
Let me give you an example;
Hammer – If you just started using it, you’d just sort of BE using it; the whole left click to use process. But when you’d killed enough mobs, an objective would pop up like “KIll 10 MOBS”. Upon completion, you would be more efficient in using hammers from now on!(and slightly also in weapons) What would this mean? a “Level up” in your weapon relationships. So now you are no longer a ‘novice’, you are a ‘comprehensive-ist’ in hammer usage. What does that mean?
Well, every time you would “level up” in attacking with a hammer, you would either attack faster, with more damage, or have a spesific ability with it from now on. For example, from now on, whenever you hold and release Right-Clck, yo would do a HEAVY SWING. a HEAVY SWING would do more damage, stun an opponent possibly, and have a cooldown.
As you level up in using these weapons you might even get individual, stand-alone spells or abilities through scrolls or books in a chest or a drop (These will be very rare, and usually people will only find them if they’re looking for them.)
As for Staffs, i find it quite hard to match up with a usual 1 Spell per Staff kind of deal, since staffs are supposed to be things that amplify your ability to spellcast. I believe in people with Staffs to learn spells overtime, as more you kill, or something of the likes. While somebody who hasn’t used a staff with in his life, upon equip will be have to start with that starting one.
I know that you guys, the developers don’t want to create too complex a system, but i feel that this is what might be a likeable system, and that it will show promise in those that want to go out and explore, defeat those protectors, and kill the titans.
