      Hello Oortians,

The past week I have constructed an unofficial forum for the oort online community to use to communicate, make friends and share your amazing content for oort online.

If you’ve not already registered then please go ahead and join a discussion today!

Nothing against the Oort Team but it looks so much better than this forum and it’s so much more convenient. But I suppose/hope this forum here is just temporary and we’ll get something similiar as the official one or maybe the unofficial one becomes the official one.

I’m a bit confused here… The forum you created looks great and all but, we have a forum right here, with which we are using to communicate and share ideas. Yes it’s a bit bland and could use some improvement, but that will come in time. I DO NOT mean to bash your work in any way, it actually looks like a nice forum. Having an additional forum just feels redundant.

I guess I’m that guy that’s questioning “why?” and I’m sorry for doing so; I just think one forum is all that is needed at this stage of the game. It keeps everyone and every discussion in one place, less running back and forth and referencing other forums. If it’s forum features people desire right now, then maybe we can suggest/ask the dev team. Plus the devs are active on this forum and I don’t know if they would join a whole new forum just to do what they can do here.

I was wondering “WHY a second forum?” as well, but in the end settled with the wonderful features and considerably less glaring setup. Perhaps the dev’s elect to outsource their official forum so that they can focus on building a game and not have to worry about building or moderating a forum as well. The new forum has a poll function, which is quite nice!

Yea we suggested some new features for this forum and I think the have not the time or the knowledge to implement them so why not change the forum to one which is functional and better looking?
But I agree with you that there shouldn’t be multiple forums.

It’s not just about the looks, this forum’s software has less features and looks terrible (small font, white background). I have used a few forums around the place and found Xenforo to be very good to look at and use.

The best outcome is that Wonderstruck update this site to use decent forum software, but in the meantime I’m glad to see others popping up.

But the biggest problem with the discourse model is it is quite hard to keep op when the community grows too big

Let’s all make different forums for the same game…

Game isn’t that popular yet to have multiple forums. I mean, this one (the official one) barely sees much activity as it is. Dont expect your fan made ones to either, unless you REALLY, REALLY get the word out in mass advertising and link to your site in particular.

Having said that though, your site does looks very nice. Maybe the devs should be putting you on their community management team.
