Snow is growing while it is snowing

While it is snowing for the first time in this winter, I came to an old idea of a Minecraft Mod: Snow Piles!

The idea behind this mod is, that while it is snowing the snow-layer is growing layer per layer if it has free sight to the sky. The snow growth of the layer is limited to a maximum height of one block, so you will not get a landscape under hundreds of blocks of snow.

That would become really interesting really quickly on Agabab, where it snows constantly.
