Some planets (like Tawas) just have foggier weather. You can turn fog off in the options if you want. The fog is also affected by things like being in low laying areas or being near large bodies of water, so if fog bothers you try building at a higher altitude, but below the main cloud layer. Many of the videos and screen shots are taken either on planets with less fog, or with fog turned off.

Oh, I think fog is also affected by the time of day, so that could be affecting things as well.

I personaly hate weight limit mechanics. The bag idea sounds like a great idea and would self balance if you are only allowed to use items on the hotbar. Want quick access to all your tools and weapons? Carry fewer bags. Time to haul your spoils back to base? Bag up your tools annd weapons and equip more bags. You can carry more, but you cant quickly access essentiall items without digging them out.

What if holding a bag reduced movement speed slightly per bag?

Private servers should have zero impact on the official servers. Also, if you want to live in commune, do like in real life and set up your own communist nation with a communal resource system. Good luck with keeping supplies full!

As for the song, nice parody! Although I think it contradicts the ideas of communism when you talk about wealth and greed.

I think you have a theocracy in mind.

What are your thoughts on blueprint blocks? Like something that is just semi-transparent, and does not have a hit box (unless you equip the pick axe) so you can just place a block in its place to fill in the blueprint.

    Pros:
+ can show a planned build when building materials are not yet available.
+ does not need to be broken, just place over it.

    Cons:
    – may require several types of blueprint blocks to represent every common building block
    – basically requires you to build the building twice.

    Possible bonus:
? Copy an existing structure and place a completed blueprint in another location to build later.
? Sell or trade a blueprint to another player.

Slingshots actually do tons of damage, more than the pistol. Try it out with a friend in a pvp zone. Character races would refer to adding models for those races with attributes to come later.

I would hope that adding creatures to the game early would allow them to work out creature ai and mechanics as best as possible prior to 1.0 launch. I’ll agree that character races add perhaps the very least to the gameplay, although they are huge for immersion. The only other core feature that both impacts game play and attracts more players would be crafting, but with nothing to use crafted materials on, why bother crafting at all?

Factions aren’t really being established here. Guilds differ from factions in that guilds aren’t at their core pvp driven, rather they are community driven. I’ve seen the Mc faction servers before, so I think I understand your concern with factions. A guild can do lots of things besides pvp, and their allegiance can go what ever way it’s community wants, unlike factions.

All the game really needs for a guild function to be successful is a way to mark a player as a member, guild hierarchy and a guild communication channel, whether that be a private chat or message board. Guilds could take on any profession from mason guild to adventurers guild, even class based guilds like mage guild or theives guild.

All a guild really does is allow like minded players to form their own private community.

I really don’t know what I’ll be until I see the race perks. I like to base my race on pvp advantage, then play as an aggressive character.

I heard that they will either:
    1) keep the worlds from early access
    2) move player creations to new worlds, if the player asks for it.

Hey, EightBitPixel! I would also like to see some RP in the creation of cities and nations! I think this is the intended direction for beacons in the future, protecting players builds and encouraging the formation of communities. There has been lots of talk by many other founding members in older forum posts for nearly identical features. The devs have told us many times that if there is demand for a feature, they will try to implement it! This would probably fall under the category of a stretch goal, so it may be rather far down the road, but I personally love the idea!

Beacons may work wonderfully to keep towns farther apart, as each player will only get a limited number of beacons to use. (I hope they limit a player to one per world, up to 5 worlds)

Keep townhe great ideas coming for the devs to see, they may add it!

On the twitter they said they would email the vote surveys toward the end of the week. You should have it by Friday/Saturday.

Not all features for the roadmap will be availablable to vote on. Some things require other features first. Ex; titans require creatures to be funded first. Guilds may require economy or beacons first.

My opinion is to vote for features that will attract more players so full game can be funded faster. I’m voting creatures 1.
