Havok40kParticipant
Sounds cool, the same concept could be used to record people passing through a property like a toll gate, or see who visits your town. Could have it set up to auto record as players pass by or only when clicked. Not a lot of other applications I can think of now, but I can see it being used widely.
Havok40kParticipantOh, I love the idea of advanced crafting recipes being earned and hunted for rather than just already known. To add to the idea, what if you also had to be skilled in the specific profession before you could understand higher leveled books? So that not only would you have to find and translate a book to get a high level recipe, you have to be a skilled crafter to understand how to craft that item as well. I’m basically combining the professions idea with your crafting book idea. So like if I wanted to craft a powerful oort sword, I have to find and translate a book. Once translated, I have to be a master weaponsmith to craft the sword. If I translate a book and I am the wrong profession for that recipe, I could either store that book in a library and charge other artisans to read it, or sell it to somebody else. Top level recipes may be so complex, that a player has to “refer to the manual” every time they craft it. That way, a library can have all the most rare books and players crafting those items either pay admission to the library or seek out a copy of their own.
Havok40kParticipantThey key bind was moved to “R”. Give that a try.
Havok40kParticipantEvery time I log into Hell, I freeze up. Oh, the irony is real.
Havok40kParticipantHit “I” for unlimited blocks, then pillar out. Look down, jump and rapidly place blocks till you are free.
Havok40kParticipantFinally no more control + w!
Havok40kParticipantNow THIS would be awesome to see! Wonderstruck, please!
Havok40kParticipantZiplines are cool! I don’t know if there are plans to implement them, but there ARE plans for grappling hooks, which could be just as cool!
Havok40kParticipantThe idea of a block being just below the surface of the water may be tricky, since, as in most voxel based games, two blocks can’t occupy the same space. Since water is treated as a block (evident when placing a torch under water) the “short block” would completely replace the water, and not be submerged. Floating boots would be the easiest way to do this 🙂
Havok40kParticipantCould allow a crafted block of some sort that players could set spawn to. Then players could set up inns to respawn from in town.
Havok40kParticipantHave the foliage all pop at once into sticks and leaves (perhaps an occasional fruit that can be eaten or replanted as a sapling) when the trunk is harvested, then you can use them for building materials or cooking/forge fuels. That way we can keep more of our logs for building rather than having to break them down into sticks.
Havok40kParticipantBump for visibility, WS, This is an excellent idea!
Havok40kParticipantDevs confirmed, no subscriptions.
Havok40kParticipantThen that player would shut out all competition and ruin the market.
Havok40kParticipantYeah it’s kinda two separate ideas there, I started rambling.
The biggest con I can think of to everybody crafting the best of every thing is you can’t really get a niche in a market and few people are willing to buy something they can craft themselves. -
