We see that bounty system in EvE Online. It works well, but I’m not sure how it would work with a game like this. With the mentality of gamers, the good vs bad ratio would be too far off. In my mind, there would be so much chaos it will discourage players from playing. Like Dayz, My friends and I, even other gamers stopped playing it because of kill on sight. Eve Online, had ganking on sight. It makes it hard for casual players to enjoy these type of games. Yea, it’s part of the game, I understand that. So if we have an automated way of tracking criminal actions it would be easier to “punish” bad behavior. Keep in mind, I was talking about griefing, not banditry. I agree that bandits should be allowed in such a game. PvP is fun. I just don’t want little kids plopping down beacons around my home just for the ‘lulz.’ Also, think of the towering dickstructures. My god…. nevermind, let’s not think about it. Those are some of the griefing actions I mean.
DarthKaspaMemberAh beacons. Forgot about that. Now I have seen those in action before. People tended to just plop them down around other players already claimed land. Basically turned the tool itself as a greifing tool. Now the community based server is nice, but how would that work as an mmo? I may have also missed that part.
And Grimoire, I agree. Having a balance of pvp will keep the game interesting. If the guilds can be structured well in Oort and have huge wars in real time, now that would great to experience. Maybe take some law elements from EvE online perhaps? Not as detailed, but keep players held accountable for their actions. When they break blocks put down by another player, it will keep track of that and have negative effects. Like any NPCs will not work with you. I’m not sure what could be done. Hope it will be thoroughly looked at.
DarthKaspaMemberThat guide helped a bit. Needed something to help me fight my way up your huge tower of hope. Haha The view from up there really showed off how the game looks.
DarthKaspaMemberThanks Daniel, I read many posts from you. Love the ideas you have. Hope to meet you in the game as well! Thanks again for the welcome!
