They’ll be working on mechanics eventually. Maybe you could make a make shift elevator. Pull the lever and you get launched up by a bouncey block or something.

The devs are just now waking up. https://twitter.com/OortOnline is one way to get ahold of them. Email works fine aswell.

The beacon system is going to protect your home from others. It won’t let them build on your land. Think they mentioned a system where you can select who can build inside it. Also so you couldn’t get killed by other players while inside it.

Now they were also talking about including a system where you can set it so you can PvP in your beacon. So you could have big Castle vs castle matches and whatnot. Traps would be cool there in this scenario.

The beacon system will probably be what you’re looking for. Depending on if they put a system in their HUD for it. I suggested that a faint light be at the top of your screen. Grows a little brighter when looking in the general direction. Or maybe they can make a bright glowing star that only the player can see.

Having a bunch of markers on your screen never appealed to me personally. All AAA games have it and it ruins immersion. Minecraft had a mod for it and whenever I watched someone play it, it was just riddled with cruddy waypoints. Of course you wouldn’t have to have a bunch of waypoints selected. Just that it seems very eh.

    Here is an example.

Here is a wooden block. I think it’d look nicer as a glass block. So I’d hover over it, hold say.. Q since it doesn’t do anything at the moment.

Hold Q and right click and BAM! The wooden block is now a glass block! And somehow the wood would be returned into your inventory.

Maybe a wearable then? The system would be different if it’s an item you have to craft and have selected in your hotbar. Then my idea wouldn’t work where you hold said button while hovering over.. say glass to turn the wood into glass. If it’d be a craftable that just sits in your inventory. They would have to make a passive system.

An example would be something I did earlier today. I was changing my light houses’s (now unproportional) wooden floor with glass. Instead of completely deleting all the wood and slowly making my way around placing glass. A tool or button press (hold) that allows me to look at certain block. Press and hold the designated key and it select the block. Whatever block is highlighted in my hot bar and triggered with the right mouse button would transform the now wood block into a glass block.

No destroying the entire wood surface. No replacing the entire wood surface. Just swap.

Welcome Oortian! The games beauty is outstanding. The controls and direction are very straight forward. People have come together to craft small towns, the DEVs interact with us and spoil us. It’s a great place to be. Surely your contributions will not be for naught!

In case you want information on how the game plays, here’s a small quick star guide I just whipped up at 6 in the morning while the sleep deprivation sets in!

The Pause menu allows you to browse through the other worlds (which are still seamlessly connected through the use of portals) in case you are having a hard time finding a portal or if you want a change in scenery!
