Does the folder c:\temp exist? I think it only writes the file if the folder is already there – can you check?

    1. Do you even get to the Sign in / Create Account view?

    2. The game generates debugging logs in:

    Mac OS X at /tmp/tblz_log.txt
    Windows at c:\temp\tblz_log.txt

    (Assuming the folders exist.)

Can you send a log after the game crashes / fails?

Keford has been regenerated as Callaw.

The original was only 1km x 1km and contained some generator corruption.

    Everything ok now?

(Sign into ga.me, go to your account settings then add a password. Then you can use these credentials in the client.)

Hey devs, you REALLY surprised me with the overwhelming number of new worlds released today with the latest patch! The variety in both color choices and terrain is incredible, keep up the great work!

Thanks – but you’ve not seen anything yet. Once people get really good at making the worlds they’ll become even more varied. We’ll also add more visual controls into the world builder. Lots of stuff still to come.

That being said, I’ve browsed several and found a great number of them have massive generation errors and missing chunks. Will these be repaired/ regenerated at a later date, or are they gonna remain?

Yes – building all these worlds has helped us discover some issues in the generator.

We will fix all the issues so the generate creates clean worlds in the future. We’ll also try to repair the worlds depending on how easy it is – without regenerating the entire world.

It would be helpful if you could share some of the locations for us to check: world and coordinates. As we may have missed some – as you say – there are lots of worlds now!!

Maybe you should create a world??

Thanks – as in the other thread – we’ll enable some debugging and help track it down.

As the app is just vanishing – it’s probably a memory issue or null pointer in there some where. Joy 😉

Seeing through the mountains is a known issue. We’ll fix it soon – but de-prioritised it before release as it was mainly an issue of polish.

(We need to make sure neighbour chunks are both remeshed – or remeshed in a suitable order – before switching the chunk you’ve just edited.)

Thanks for the reports. We’re going to enable some debugging to help us nail down the issue. I’ll respond with details shortly.

Once you pass Steam Greenlight you can setup an Early Access product. But you then need clearance from Steam to publish the page (and product).

We were waiting for the go-ahead from Steam before announcing the launch date and prices. We didn’t want to announce anything not knowing if we would be able to publish the game on the announced date.

Happily, we got the go-ahead from Steam at the end of last week – so expect an announcement on the launch date and price really soon.

The lighting is done two ways:

    1. Burnt into the world. This is done once when the chunk mesh is generated from the voxel world. It is re-generated when the voxel world changes.

    2. Dynamically for objects (players, other dynamic objects) that can move throughout the world.

Making the lighting pulse for #2 is possible – #1 not at the moment – unless we re-do the lighting.

Crazy – we really really need to add different coloured crystals!
