michaelbKeymasterUpdate 78 has the fix in.
michaelbKeymasterThanks – yes thats a cool idea.
michaelbKeymasterThanks for the report. The white screen issue has been reported on a couple of Macs and will be looked in to.
The complete freeze on removing a block is a new issue so we will bug that.
michaelbKeymasterOne other thing to try is updating the graphics drivers to the latest ones to see if they address some of the DX11 slow down.
michaelbKeymasterFor that spec machine there will be a balance of which feature you want on (press o for options) verses the frame rate you want.
The decay of fps overtime is something we will look in to. There are more optimisations planned though also have more features to add too.
There will be a native application that will remove much of the overhead of the browsers so should be more sprightly for many users.
michaelbKeymasterFixes in latest
* Vanishing chunks that reached high up in the world
* Blocks at 255 not rendering
* Fix for block lighting flashing during deltas
* Fixed players not being able to play the game if the last world they were on has been shutdown
* Fix for block lights causing WebWorker crash at the bottom of the world
* Fix for player not able to move at startup
* Fixed a cause of chunks not meshingmichaelbKeymasterShould be fixed.
michaelbKeymasterIf you have a short cut to chrome copy it and call it, say, Chrome DX9. Then right click on the short cut and select properties. This opens a properties dialog on the shortcut tab. Edit the ‘Target’ by adding –disable-d3d11 to the end.

michaelbKeymasterThanks – the next update should fix that.
August 7, 2014 at 12:42 pm in reply to: Inconsistent FPS and rubberbanding in Chrome, silky-smooth in Firefox #2717michaelbKeymasterTry the disabled Chrome dx11 workaround outlined here http://oortonline.com/forums/topic/performence-problems-firefox-chrome/
michaelbKeymasterWhat FPS do you get with the all options turned off?
What is the version of your Mac?
Updating the os can help in some cases if its actually looks incorrect rather than laggy. There is an issue with the non-reflective water we will fix.
michaelbKeymasterCan you post a link to them?
thanks.
michaelbKeymasterI think firefox is slowly crashing due to an out of memory issue in the case you are seeing.
Generally chrome is fine but they just made an update that not working well in some cases.
If you run chrome from the command line with “–disable-d3d11” which run chrome using directx9 instead of 11 it may well run much, much better.
eg“C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe” –disable-d3d11
If that is better can you let me know what the fps difference is – we are talking to them about this issue.
The next update also has a fix in that should help some of the extreme slowdown on Chrome on some cards.
michaelbKeymasterOk yes that should be get good performance in general.
If you are seeing reasonable pings time (press p for pause menu) then there are a couple of issues it maybe.
If it just occasionally and does not correct until you reload then we are taking the servers down to update them and that can make this happen at the moment.
If you find it happening in the same world and location let us know where so we can look too see if there a general issue as there may be an issue there generating the mesh.
Thanks.
