I turn 52 in a couple of weeks, rest assured you’re not the oldest here. I have a daughter at ULB Solbosch, I’m planning to cross the pond to visit in a few weeks.

In my downtime I like to build roads on Eisa. Started in July when it was Fooks, and I just keep going in all directions as I find the time.

Huzzah! I can see my road(s)!

It’d be nice to have an embiggen option on the minimap eventually, so’s I don’t have to find my reading glasses whenever I go to check to see where to build a turn. Not everyone has the keen eyesight of a child.

I see this on Eisa, with all my computers (ranging from a Yoga 2 Pro running the web client at 3200×1800 in Firefox on Ubuntu Vivid to a enthusiast nVidia gtx970 rig running the Steam client on Windows 8 on a 1080p@60 TV). Started some time before this last week end since we first noticed it Sunday.

It doesn’t appear to be server lag so much as some kind of failure to mesh. When block removal or placement doesn’t work it permanently does not work in that spot during the session, unlike previous lag problems where if you were persistent you could eventually place/remove the block.

Both write-once signs and general message boards would be useful inside of beacons. I would assume no one I allow to write on my message board inside my beacon is going to draw dickbutt. Well, maybe, but I’m sure it’s being done ironically.

How would that translate to a touchscreen? It’s already painful enough using a clickpad with inadvertent swipes.

I think it’s important to be able to customize the controls to adjust to the available input (and preference of the player). A multi-button mouse is one possible piece of input hardware.

The various fog and HDR fixes definitely improve the experience. Karrea is no longer a thick yellow soup.

Rubber-banding seems improved on my sometimes-laggy internet connection, but that could just be because of a good day in vacuumland.

Well, I know I log on to fooks pretty much every day for a couple hours and I’m always pretty much the only one on that server … takes 5 or 10 minutes for it to get fully spun up before I can work on my roads, otherwise it’s rubber-banding and disappearing blocks everywhere.

Kinda nice having a whole world to myself, on the other hand. Now if only I had furniture to sit and admire the view…..

Be wary of unleashing the Forgotten Beasts and the ensuing Fun.

The current control scheme is very awkward even for a right-handed player with no mouse, only a clickpad. That’s not an atypical laptop configuration.

Also, the current control scheme is mighty big job broken with touchscreens.

Also: doors. Vertical and horizonal (trap) doors.
