KeymasterI’m sorry to report that Windows XP is below our minimum spec for the game. (This is defined on http://steam.oortonline.com.)
Because we depend on the .Net framework and as you report there isn’t a version available for XP.
Do you have another machine you can play the game on?

The browser have more stable networking – if this is an improvement then we’ll have a better idea what to focus on.

KeymasterSounds like it might be a memory leak – could you watch the Windows process monitor and see if the memory usage keeps going up??
We have fixed a few memory leaks recently that will be coming in the next update – hopefully one of these will resolve your issue.

You can sign in with the username and password you used in the Steam Oort Online version.

We have a known issue with bad latency on OSX that, when triggered, can cause the game to stall badly. We’d really keen to get it fixed and will be looking into it as a priority. If you’re on OSX you’ll definitely hit this with your connection.

KeymasterDo you have a firewall running? If so, it’s possible the firewall is restricting the game access to the Oort servers.
Can you try whitelisting the game or tweaking the firewall setting?
