If you don’t have Windows Service Pack 1 install it looks like you need to do that, as well as the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages.
michaelbKeymasterBoth the SP1 and Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013? There was a bug where they generated code that call instructions that did not exist on some processors but that is meant to be fixed in the latest version.
What exact CPU do you have?
michaelbKeymasterIf you have SP1 installed then updating to the latest of this http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 may fix it.
michaelbKeymasterDo you have Windows 7 Service Pack 1 installed? There is a bug they fixed that meant it was incorrectly detecting the CPU type.
michaelbKeymasterThe log shows the game failed to connect to steam. The obvious things are that steam needs to be running and up to date, as well as connected to the net. Make sure you launch the game from steam, rather than run the exe directly, and the Oort client is up to date in steam.
michaelbKeymasterSorry for the inconvenience. We are working on another update that should fix some more cases where the socket closes.
michaelbKeymasterThe screen shot above looks to be the wrong folder. If you started the game it should at least have a ‘static-cache’ folder in it.
Did you paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\Turbulenz\Oort Online\ in to the explorer folder?
michaelbKeymasterThanks for the report. The reflection only occur at sea level so we will check whether these are correctly set on those worlds.
michaelbKeymasterHi,
A couple of thing:-
Firstly have you got the latest graphics drivers installed?
Can give us you get the log information which should be in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Turbulenz\Oort Online\oortonline_log.txt
thanks.
michaelbKeymasterThanks for the report – its located an error in the socket library we are looking in to.
michaelbKeymasterCan you find the crash dump file and email it in to [email protected]?
If should be called tblz_crashdump_0000.mdmp (or a larger number) in the (hidden) %LOCALAPPDATA%\Turbulenz\Oort Online\ or C:\temp\ folder.
michaelbKeymasterOk.
Have you run the game on that machine before or is this the first time you’ve tried it?
michaelbKeymasterHave you tired updating to the latest AMD drivers (14.*)? There was another report of a crash with the AMD 13.* drivers.
michaelbKeymasterHi,
Can you create the folder c:\temp and run the game again. It will write a text log file called tblz_log.txt that may have some information in as to why its not working.
What are the specs of your machine? The most likely cause is the graphics drivers. If you can update those it may fix it.
michaelbKeymasterThe file is tblz_log.txt
