If it has no surface, you could dig upwards an infinite amount of blocks, unless you hit the world walls. I’m sure it could be done, but would be immersion breaking as the walls would be close both above and below the caved worlds floor and ceiling. All solid masses have a surface, there’s no escaping it.

The only issue I really see with this is that when you think about it, entirely underground worlds still need a surface, otherwise they would be infinitely large.

Worlds with larger, possibly even connected underground tunnels (where underground is the entry point from portals) with nothing of major value on the surface at all.

I’m not sure if this is really even possible.

There is already a world with a sea of Lava, most blocks havn’t been implemented yet, only blue crystals, a variety of grass colors, some stone, a couple wood types, dirts, ice, etc. Most crystal or gem blocks havn’t been implemented, along with I believe a variety of other metallic blocks which would be used for crafting weapons and armors.

I agree that some pre-built, be it in ruins or not, buildings once occupied by Oortian should be in the game worlds, and I believe they will be at a later date (temples and the like).

I was thinking also about extreme condition worlds, worlds that would require specific equipment to even explore (sulphur based liquid oceans, resulting in toxic air which would require some form of protection, acid rains, etc.)

Soo much can be done with this game as long as they do it right.

This is true, maybe the beacons have a timer before they return to the players inventory, giving a player a limited amount of time (say 3-5 day) before they have to replace the beacon, if they claim an area, and do not return within the given timeframe, the beacon decays and anyone can claim the area. As for war over a claimed area, I’m not exactly sure how that could be implemented. Maybe a specific feature that allows you to demand a battle which anyone can partake in (or groups, or guilds, depending on how all of this stuff will be handled as well). This would allow for poorly defended beacons to be taken easy, and heavily defended beacons be difficult to penetrate.

As for the issue I read in the provided thread, depletion of resources on worlds. This could be solved with regeneration, slow regeneration, for example, every half day a random block regenerates, blocks that regenerate have a % chance of being the same type as the blocks beside and diagonally from them, block % is determined by block type rarity, precious blocks will have a lower % of regenerating in general, and along side blocks of similar types.

Regeneration would be limited to unclaimed areas and unparsed areas.

I dunno, this seems like a relatively feasible solution to both problems, unless I’m missing something extremely important.

I hope they have 1 home beacon which once set, cannot be moved, with several movable beacons, which would allow miners to post a beacon at a rich vein and remove the beacon after the vein has been exhausted, this could be similar for any number of player types.

In addition, hopefully, they will use a decay feature. The beacon looks for it’s owner, and after X number of days/weeks without finding them, it decays (this would be the only way a home beacon could be moved, as it should by rights be re-added to the players inventory for future play experiences, along with smaller movable beacons decaying in this fashion, and being re-added to the players inventory)

for normal slope you need to put the block in hotbar slot number 2, I recommend setting slopeable blocks (I believe only 6 or so blocks can slope at this time) to hotbar slots 2-6 (2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) and setting up a reference station to use when building with slopes. You will still need to press “R” to change between normal block and slope block placement.

    Hope this helps

likely just a defective generation of the world I’m thinking, it connects to the server but seems to immediately halt right after.

there needs to be an emergency server select option at the title screen, otherwise we are looped into the eternal blackness of Palckn.

So are the players, I’m sure as the game progresses the blocks will be re-textured with higher quality textures. Right now I believe all the graphical assets are bare bones for functionality testing.

best way to get a screenshot at this time would be to press the “Print Screen” button, and paste it into any photo editor. The “Print Screen” button acts as a fullscreen copy to your clipboard.

Same problem, same world, not sure what to do as the server list refuses to show itself as well, preventing me from playing entirely.

I’m sure there could be a way to implement power of some kind, I would like to have something similar to redstone dust so I can direct where the power or electric magic where I want to. Maybe implement a tool that allows you to edit the wiring or magical current in the blocks that tells each surface of the block how to act (powered or not).

Magnets are also a very interesting idea and can be used much better than a standard piston system to achieve very positive results for a large variety of things (elevators for one).

I believe the combined use of electrical/magical current directing the flow of power with magnets could produce some very interesting devices.
