What if you had the ability to craft everything, but had to choose a mastery for a bonus stat in one class of item? You could have master sword crafters, bowyers, armorers, tool makers, etc. Each could get a bonus stat when they craft what they are specialized in. You could take this a step further and give each mastery tiers that require a milestone to be met to unlock the next tier, like craft an item from unique materials or require an item from another profession to craft a unique item (sword maker requires enchanted leather from a leatherworker to make an enchanted sword hilt). That way professions trade between eachother and don’t compete against eachother.
Havok40kParticipantBuilding custom floating islands is not too hard, and can be fun to!
Havok40kParticipantI think these forums are just a place holder for now.
Havok40kParticipant@Rob, how long will you guys be waiting for people to reply? The anticipation is killing meeeeeee!
Along those lines, is there an ETA for Combat1 to begin being implemented?
Havok40kParticipantThanks, I’m not familiar with SAO, though. Then again, it depends on how the dev’s split up the worlds, if at all. I’ve not seen any mention of zones besides beacon zones so far. We should push for this to be a feature, as I think it would provide for A LOT of fun and tension.
Havok40kParticipantA simple mechanic could be a zone status in the top of your screen that informs you if a zone is friendly, contested or hostile, as well as any special rules like no building, no pvp, or other stuff. I’m expecting to see several portals to different parts of the same worlds, so it may be different depending on what portal you enter a world from. The real question to me is how will portals work? do all portals to a world exit from the same place, or do they correspond to coordinates?
Havok40kParticipantCrafting looks to be most likely the next one, then I’d speculate farming> Beacons> Economy> Progression> ???
After that, maybe titans. It would be about time to get something in there to really draw in the crowds.Havok40kParticipantA vanity item is something with absolutely zero stats, and serves only for decoration or personal enjoyment. I am totally in favor of making impressive items that can only be acquired through trial and tribulation!
Havok40kParticipantThe craftable recall item to return home, I love it! Should be consumed on use and have a steep cost.
The crafting requirements are also interesting, I always hated how you use a workbench to create EVERYTHING in MC, with the only exception being potions and smelting. So dull.
Havok40kParticipantAlso for reasons like roll play, or if you are well known on one character and just want to be incognito. Other racial abilities or even having a fresh start are all good reasons to allow multiple characters on one account. Simply bind them all to one account that all shares beacons and accountability and you will have no problems.
Havok40kParticipantThe only reason I would be in favor of a map boundary is if it resolved performance issues. Otherwise, world overpopulation will become a problem much sooner.
Havok40kParticipantThe “Gain Access” tab on their website will tell you most everything you need to know, and the game will be $25 at launch. They have already confirmed that there will be no subscription fees.

hope this helps!Havok40kParticipantWell, auctions may be a bad idea, but if they did something that allowed a player to buy vanity items that had no affect on game play, it could be a good way to finance the game after launch.
Havok40kParticipantLets break this down into classes of weapons, then add a variety of every class.
Fist type: Unarmed, Claws, Brass Knuckles, Hidden Blade, etc
Dagger: Shiv, Knife, etc.
1 Handed: Hatchet, Gladius, Mace, etc.
2 Handed: Spear, War Hammer, Battle Axe, Great Sword, etc.
Defensive: Shields, Wards, etc.
Spell/Magic: Tomes, Relics, Gems, Idols, etc.
Ranged: Handguns, Rifles, Grenades, Javelins, Bows, Slings, etc. From here, we can decide what class weapons have what attributes, and what modifiers each weapon in each class has to set it slightly apart. Also, can some weapons be used at the same time as others? Can I wield a 1 handed sword and a spell tome at the same time? How would I select two weapons at once on my hot bar? Can I combine two classes into a single “item” that can later be separated out into its two parts again? Does combining classes of weapons combine the stats of both types, or does duel wielding make each slightly less effective in some way?
Havok40kParticipantPerhaps a water dwelling titan or large guardian?
