Yea the should have their strengths and weaknesses but not like a sword is the next tier after the scythe.

If the portals stay the same as now then it would break the immersion for me if just special worlds would have PVP or PVE. Why not have spezial zones like a dangerous woods or a deadly desert. This would make much more sense in my opinion.
But the borders shouldn’t be fix. They should move with the expansion of the player builds. Maybe depending on a certain radius around the border beacons of a Town.

This kind of reminds me of SAO and I think this is the fairest methode so far.

There are really only two things I’d do almost everything to see in this games: Dual Wielding and Scythes. (Who doesn’t want to play Death?^^) Back when I played Monster Hunter I’d always prefere the Scythe over a more powerful sword. Which brings me to my next point. Please don’t make a combined hierarchy of all weapons I’d rather do like every type of weapon has its equivalent in the other classes and weapons. So I woulnd’t have a handicap just because I love to use my Scythe instead of the sword which would come next in the hierarchy of Weapons, and which I have already the level to use but because there is no equivalent in form of a scythe I’d stick to my weaker weapon. (Was that understandable?)

I would really like this kind of blocks. Especially for wood and stone (because why should sand hang on the ceiling? xD). I could have used them today^^

Yea you could have a summary of the story on the back of the book and maybe show how many pages the book counts. And even if you would cheat another person with a book, you’d get a negativ reputation and nobody would buy books from you anymore.

I really like your ideas. And I see no conflict in both of your opinions. I mean even if you build the golems/puppets with a certain material which gives them their live/power, you’d still have the magic in this material. I would say the idea with mechanical things powered by magic is a perfect combination of this mostly opposing ways to approach a certain problem.

And every world would bring other trees and crossbreds so you’d have to have a book (from another player) about which two trees make the one you want or try it out for yourself.

If they add titans there should definitely be a water version. Maybe like the big Water Monster from Monster Hunter Tri. That would be so cool.
And when you come to a new world you’d have to ask around which creatures are deadly and which not. (or try it out) because nothing in Oort looks like on Earth I hope^^

I would almost certainly write one if I had the chance to do so^^ I mean not only for my personal use but if people like the stories you could even sell the books. I love the idea.
You could even make kind of a bonus branch for the tanner (if this skill will exist) so he could also be a bookbinder who can bind books noble and with all sorts of fancy stuff.
And maybe there would be a player who does the publishing and the advertising of good books. The possibilities are endless again^^

It’s just a little optical idea but I’d love to see like a transparent hologram thingy of the inventory of the other person if he opens it up and maybe the same view if I open it up myself. A little bit like in Dead Space (or SAO^^).

It was already mentioned but in my opinion the best solution would be that an average player, who plays like 1-2 hours a day (not sure if this is realistic^^), could master maybe 1 or 2 skills in a year (again maybe a little bit unrealistic) if he concentrates on this skills. But if you want to invest the time you’d have the possibility to master all the skills.
This way all the solo players could do whatever the want. They’d just have to work a lot harder. And groups of players, maybe in a town, could specialize on one or two skills and make money off of it.
I myself am a solo player but for some things I’d really like to just go to a person who can make them easily so I don’t have to make them with a huge effort.
An example would be: Why would I max my cooking skill, even if I could, just to make food which gives me a buff I need for a Quest? or a Bossfight? I’d rather give a Cook some gold and go straight to the Boss.
But the lowest tier of everything should be available for everyone. I mean even I could make a primitive table although I’m not a carpenter. But for the better looking things you either have to train yourself or go to a professional. One costs time the other one gold.
But you have the choice and that’s the most important thing. I’ve searched long and played a lot of MMO’s but I only found one or two which came close to this vision and I really hope that Oort can fill this niche because I can not believe I am the only one who searches for something like that.

I would really like to see some weapons and armor and other treasures which are rare, very rare and ultra rare (maybe even rarer?^^) but they should really be almost unreachable for a single player (maybe a player with the highest gear and a good strategie could obtain it), this way groups would try it and in most cases fail which creates hopefully ingame myths and legends about the person/the group which can finally reach this treasures.
I know it’s a little bit utopian but why not dream?^^ It might become reality.

And because there are only a few, almost unreachable, of this items, maybe just one in the whole game (again a little utopian), they should be better than normal gear or guarantee some kind of boni for your town or your house. Of course not too extreme but better than something you could obtain much easier.

I usually build very much but never unneeded things and I wouldn’t want to have to look after every single building because it could dekay or erode.
I also think that some physic laws are good in such a game but I wouldn’t try to make them as “hard” as in our real world. I would hate it if I were not able to build some flying stuff just because it would fall to the ground in the real world. If you want to have support beams you can “simulate” them.
This way you can also show how much detail you can spot and bring into your buildings.
Maybe you could have erosion to a certain degree if a player is away for more than a few months or longer. That way the game and the players would create new things to explore on their own.
But on the other side would it be great if the landscape would “heal” itself. Holes would vanish and like said before only tunnels which are frequently visited would stay.

Why would you want to have multiple characters in a game that allows you to do everything with one character?
