Kids with their parents creditcard anyone?^^
KumaMemberI really like your ideas my friend^^
KumaMemberThis is a very good question and I couldn’t say which one appeals more to me…
KumaMemberWe are discussing the skill system some days now and got into much detail in other threads:
http://oortonline.com/forums/topic/randomized-stats/
http://oortonline.com/forums/topic/making-decisions-in-crafting/
http://oortonline.com/forums/topic/tools-and-weapons/
and some more I can’t find right now. They all touch the subject forging at some point. Which makes me think that forging could be one of the most important skills besides the normal crafting.
Now to your post. Someone said that just smelting an ore into an ingot without anything that changes except for the name and the model of the item is nothing else but time consuming. And I completely agree with that. I’d like to have more detail in every step of the process: smelting, forging, (assembeling), refining.
I like the idea of several tiers of forges. But a hammer has to be in there^^ I want to see the sparks when the smith makes my Ubersword of Worlddomination 😉
Your general plan is good but I’d like to see much more detail because I know this game can do that.- This reply was modified 10 years, 5 months ago by Kuma.
KumaMemberI can’t really follow your reasoning to be honest. Could you please elaborate on that?
KumaMemberWell PVP is planed but we don’t know where and how and how much you will lose if you die in any situation. A real challenge for the devs.
KumaMemberI’m not so much a fan of infinite ressources but it might be the best choice in this case.
KumaMemberIt’s kind of ironic but this is the part where I am against too much randomness^^ Just because Animals behave in a certain way. Maybe have 3 different colors if you can defend them. For example the sky is purplish so the birds would be purple to not be seen by their prey on the ground or something like that.
KumaMemberI’m not sure if this is what they want. I surley enjoyed playing FTB but I don’t think it would fit into Oort or at least not to this extend. Maybe some basic tech things but not to far into the industrial age.
But if you combine it with magic it would fit much better I’d say. More Oorty as you said^^.
KumaMemberWell you know that there is pvp everywhere so why should you go on a treasure hunt with someone you don’t trust?^^
KumaMemberI wouldn’t say that these effects are very complex. If you look what we would love too see in the game crafting or skill wise then these are just basic complexity^^ but yes magic should have debuffs because the caster hasn’t that much physical strength normally
KumaMemberYou’re right I love your Ideas^^
KumaMemberme too xD Portal (the game) ftw^^
KumaMemberWhy wouldn’t you like semi random events while crafting? This will just simulate how good you are with this skill. It’s not like you wouldn’t have any control.
And yes your description is exactly why I don’t want a limit in the skills. It could be like in Runescape where mastering a skill takes a lot of time.
KumaMemberI say the possibilities and the way the skill trees could link to eachother are endless^^
